I am passionate about food and love sharing my knowledge of cooking, ingredients, and the food industry. I have 20 years of combined experience in cooking, restaurant ownership/management, staff training and supervision, menu planning, recipe development, and catering and event planning. Private Chef Work in the “Sacramento to South Lake Tahoe” region.
I work with clients on select events to plan and prepare meals at their homes for parties up to 30 people. I specialize in Farm-to-fork cuisine, food and beverage pairings, multi-course tasting menus, casual cook-outs and picnics, backcountry dining, and meals catered for those with dietary restrictions.
Catering Contract Review
Hiring a caterer for the first time can be overwhelming. I have ten years of experience as a caterer working with clients just like you and am happy to walk you through the process, review your catering quotes and contracts, and liaise with your potential caterers to ensure a successful event in which all your needs are met.

Menu Consultation
A good restaurant menu is well-rounded, appealing to customers and cohesively captures the essence of your restaurant. It also needs to be feasible and profitable. Every item needs to work together. Every piece of prep needs to serve multiple purposes to cut down on staff time. Ingredients need to be used in different ways in different places throughout the menu, utilizing scraps and end pieces.
If you are a restaurant owner that would like a second pair of eyes on the new menu your Chef just proposed, I am happy to review it and provide constructive suggestions to improve your bottom line and streamline your operation. I can create or share recipes for your menu as well, scaled and priced out for your restaurant.
Food Safety Training For Staff
During my time as Executive Chef at a restaurant that doubled as a Charcuterie, food safety was especially important and always a top concern. I have developed no B.S., straightforward, and in-depth training documents that go over all the most common food safety pitfalls in a restaurant kitchen and how to prevent them.

I love creating custom recipes to pair with specific wines or your farm’s seasonal produce and making these recipes available to your club members and email list subscribers. I am happy to create sponsored posts developed just for your products. You are also free to use existing posts and images from this blog at no cost to you so long as you 1) include a link that sends your readers directly to the Home Cooks Guide post and 2) refrain from including the full recipe or post in your newsletter or on your website.
